Detailed Description

Sleep onset latency reflects homeostatic sleep pressure. Normal range is 10–20 minutes. Under 5 minutes suggests chronic sleep debt. Over 30 minutes may indicate insomnia or elevated anxiety.

How to Improve

  • 4-7-8 breathing technique before bed
  • Cognitive shuffle (random imagery to distract rumination)
  • No screens 1 hour before bed
